The mission of Traverse is to provide experiences for college age young adults that cultivate maturity and develop skills for college, career and community in a Christ-centered context.

Traverse is designed to give participants a break from the classroom without interrupting the process of preparing for life as responsible adults. Many of the activities engage all participants, other activities involve smaller groups and a few activities fall into a category we refer to as supported independence, where the participants enhance skills they are developing in the real world.

The Traverse program provides a wide variety of options that allows participants to custom design their gap year experience by choosing to specialize in one of three tracks: CULTURE & LEADERSHIPOUTDOOR SKILLSARTS & PRODUCTION. Each track is directed by experienced professionals and enhanced through the participation of dozens of women and men from fields as diverse as professional photographer to corporate CEO.

Four components: ADVENTURETRAVELSERVICEFAITH  provide the framework for all programming. Their scope and purpose is described in the pages  dedicated to each component.
